The $500 Digital Campaign

One of the most clever ideas, the people at McCann Erickson in Israel have used the poor eyesight and common typing mistakes made by consumers when searching the internet to their advantage. When users mis-type url addresses, for example ‘koogle’ instead of ‘google’ Opticana (the people who hired McCann Erickson) purchased the mispronounced url’s (koogle) and used the space as an advertising medium for their Optical Store, using the tagline ‘Maybe its time to check your eyes!’

I believe that ideas like this will become commonplace in the future as agencies and clients will begin to seek more cost-effective methods in advertising their brands and businesses.
